Abstract
The paper provides a systematic and historical analysis of the role and place of physical culture and sports in the development and current status of social life. Challenges of today and their relationship with the sports movement are considered, the highest achievements of a dispute, the health problems involved in sports, well-known and new mechanisms and technologies of mass sport as a tool to preserve and promote the health of the Nation are analyzed.
