Abstract

The article gives a brief history of the development and implementation of the idea of education for sustainable development as a global goal of modern humanity. Based on the methodological comparison of environmental education and education for sustainable development, the shift of emphasis in the world educational paradigm from environmental education to the greening of education based on the humanization and humanization of environmental knowledge is shown.
