Abstract
The features of the new concept of environmental education approved in Russia for the general education system are considered. The logic of ecological education goals development for the last half a century, changes in methodological approaches and conceptual and terminological apparatus of ecological education are analyzed. The concept of «ecological education» as a result of general education is considered.
